Tashari's (Insane) Wishlist 8.6
or: Things Sarah Likes

This wishlist is not practical. This is just a list of all things, as I think of them, in no particular order, that I want. I'm much happier with gifts I can use, than random trinkets. I'm also happier with one, single, nice gift that a bunch of people chip into together, rather than too many cheap gifts of questionable value.
As I pretty much just make enough to pay rent, bills, food, and have a little on the side for leisure, there's a lot I can't really afford.
Don't take this as a "if you don't get me something on here you're not my friend" sort of list. It's a guideline if you feel the need/want to get me something and want it to be something I want.

Art Books (and magazines). These fall into multiple categories. Books from particular artists that I enjoy or might enjoy. My tastes range from fantasy (Charles Vess) to hyper-realism (Steve Hanks), and realistic figurtive works (Jeremy Lipking). Picture Books/Children' Books count as art books. Especially if they are Chris Van Allsburg (of which I own The Mysteries of Harris Burdick) and Ruth Sanderson (who's book "Twelve Dancing Princesses" which comes with a copy of with the signed "Golden Wood" print I keep meaning to pick up from her website), or comic books like Flight (of which I have issues 1, 2 and 3). I might enjoy James Gurney's Dinotopia series. Compilations such as Spectrum (of which I own #12 and #15 and would like others) and Fantasy Art (which I have #1 and #2 of). Subscriptions to art related magazines (either fantasy or non - such as general oil painting or drawing) would probably be nice, specifically technique oriented. I'm not sure all of what's out there (though it seems I might enjoy ImagineFX, International Artist, maybe something from American Artist). Oh hey, I just heard about Illustration Magazine, which also has back issues available. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, I have recently realized that I am sorely lacking in art books of old masters that should really be in my collection. Namely the following: Frederic Leighton, John William Waterhouse, John Singer Sargent, William-Adolphe Bouguereau, E. B. Leighton (I have not seen an art book for him and I really want one), and perhaps Peter Paul Rubens. Maybe some other pre-raphaeilites, too, like Alma-Tadema... (I did recently pick up a Mucha, Frederic Leighton, Waterhouse, and Bouguereau, so double check with someone familair wtih my bookcases to not duplicate - right now I really want Sargent, and maybe more Mucha)

• Buy me the dot com for sarahmorrison. A squater sits on it now and isn't doing anything with it but ads. I e-mailed them once saying I was interested in buying a domain from them and asking what they sold them for, and the response I got was essentially "What's it worth to you?". It kinda turned me off of dealing with them.

• A new camera. Must have high mega pixels (but damn, anything's better than the 3mp I have). Full manual mode. Remote flash, and remote shutter. Tripod mount (maybe this is standard?).

• I should probably own such useful art tools as a plaster bust and a skull (but not necessarily a human skull; a reptile skull would be handy). A model ship would be handy. And some dionsaur toys.

• I always need more art supplies, but please don't try to buy me any. A gift certificate makes so much more sense, either for my store or another one.

• Money for clothes. Like new mary-janes for work, and more pants to alter, and maybe a skirt or two.
