I appear to have forgotten to feature the birthday cakes I did for Josh and I this year.

Josh got a Nac Mac Feegle (from Terry Pratchett's Discworld), and I got a Lego Wizard.

I had a sudden desire to attempt a popup card for one of my best friends' birthday this month, and made him a slice of Sierpinski Triangle cake.

And my husband had a half-year birthday party to make up for having been out-of-commission with a ruptured disk when he tried to have a real birthday party. So I made him a cake.

Josh and I had a combined birthday party this year, and I made us both ice cream cakes.

I don't have much to post since I can't post in-progress shots of my current painting. So, here's the by-request cake I did for my friend [Dr.] Sarah's thesis defense party:

It's Boris (of Rocky and Bullwinkle) with a Kisenian flower (from the Sailor Moon R Movie). It was everything she hoped it would be, and more.

And then I came home and drew Josh while he was practicing flipping coins in his fingers.

I've taken to making ice cream cakes for my birthday for a while, and like drawing stuff on them in icing. This year I did Ashura from CLAMP's RG Veda, one of my favorite anime from back when I was still really into it. The supermarket was all out of black and blue gel icing, though, so I got silly with some different colors.

Gah! I must exclaim. I just recalibrated my monitor in order to make sure the colors I was seeing would print well on my fantastic new printer. And now all the old scans on here look really off. I may tweak them all next time I have a rainy afternoon. Hopefully things'll look nicer from here on out.
